Thanks for your report. I didn't notice this would block kiosk systems. However, the patch is not a debian derivate as it was backport from upstream's git which means it would included in next new release. If you already have a work around or patch that add configuration option or something else without break this feature. I'd love to add that to this package for you. PS.
