Hi Daniel, The man page for each coreutils command is generated from the output of that command ran with --help, so it's usually kept very short and simple. The full description of the "long listing format" is available in the Texinfo manual though (info ls). I'm therefore tempted to close this bug as "wontfix", because I cannot see a way of accurately describing the long listing format in a few words only.
