Package: firmware-ralink Version: 0.30 Followup-For: Bug #505152
workaround found: "pre-up iwconfig wlan0 power off" in relevant interface confs lines (in /etc/network/interfaces). Note: I don't know how to make that in a graphic interface. So, I think it is an energy-saving feature wlan interface problem (details in paragraph below). Product label: "D-Link DWL G-122 hw version 81 fw version 1.00" Without that workaround SSH is almost unuseable, and if not used a while, the link goes definitely down and I have to reboot (I have no console: the machine is a "just mpd enabled jukebox", with even no MTA). mpd clients were unuseable too but lftp clients worked fine while transfering files (=> works at high throughputs, but not at low ones). relevant dmesg lines (while pre-up is ok): [ 2.499958] usb 2-1: New USB device found, idVendor=2001, idProduct=3c00 [ 2.499967] usb 2-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 2.499973] usb 2-1: Product: 802.11g WLAN Adapter [ 2.499978] usb 2-1: Manufacturer: ANI ....
