As far as I know, Ganglia will not compile on i386/gcc-4.0 or Mac OS X with GCC 4.0 either. Also, this is not the only problem with GCC4 and Ganglia. This issue also affects upstream, and I suggest that this bug be forwarded to them and that the fix is coordinated with them.
The attached patch may be useful in solving some of the problems there.
