Details:
Hello,
I primarily use wget to go out and grab data for viewing later. I was
thinking the other day, "I would really
like to capture this streamed video so that I can look over it later."
But I have not been able to find
anything that works nearly as well as I would like. wget's biggest
strength is that it goes out to the net
and reads any arbitrary stream of data. This seems to me like a fairly
obvious next step for this program to
take on. It already supports http https and ftp; I think that RTP/RTSP
would be a very valuble extension of
this multipurpose tool. I do not know how wide a use it would have,
but I think that adding another protocol
for content fetching would be within the development path for this tool.
