I'm afraid I don't entirely follow everything that's discussed in this report. I'm not sure of the purpose of the dm-uuid and dm-name symlinks. But, I think, given Bastian's response, that perhaps this bug should have the patch tag removed, since there isn't a good and ready-to-apply patch ?
