Package: zabbix-server-pgsql Version: 1:1.8.2-1squeeze2 Severity: normal
I'm trying to use the XMPP media type to send notifications from Zabbix to my Jabber/XMPP server. However, Zabbix doesn't connect to the server. The logs contain "Connection failed: Connection refused". Network sniffing shows that Zabbix only tries to connect to one of the IP addresses associated to the "hostname" part of the Jabber identifier. It so happens that that IP address is unreachable because of firewalls, but others would work. Zabbix should therefore try all addresses in turn until one works. Even better, Zabbix should honor the SRV records defined in DNS to determine what host and port to connect to. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages zabbix-server-pgsql depends on: ii adduser 3.112+nmu2 add and remove users and groups ii dbconfig-common 1.8.46+squeeze.0 common framework for packaging dat ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.36.1 Debian configuration management sy ii fping 2.4b2-to-ipv6-16.1 sends ICMP ECHO_REQUEST packets to ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcurl3-gnutls 7.21.0-2 Multi-protocol file transfer libra ii libiksemel3 1.2-4 C library for the Jabber IM platfo ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.23-7.2 OpenLDAP libraries ii libopenipmi0 2.0.16-1.2 Intelligent Platform Management In ii libpq5 8.4.8-0squeeze1 PostgreSQL C client library ii libsnmp15 5.4.3~dfsg-2 SNMP (Simple Network Management Pr ii lsb-base 3.2-23.2squeeze1 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip Versions of packages zabbix-server-pgsql recommends: ii postgresql 8.4.8-0squeeze1 object-relational SQL database (su ii snmpd 5.4.3~dfsg-2 SNMP (Simple Network Management Pr Versions of packages zabbix-server-pgsql suggests: ii logrotate 3.7.8-6 Log rotation utility ii zabbix-frontend-php 1:1.8.2-1squeeze2 network monitoring solution - PHP -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
