Hi. Just want to say I've had the same problem when I use the File / Connect to server dialog, whereas it works when I use a davs://server/path URL in the location entry-field.
With the first way, it won't accept my password and connnect me... With the second one, whenever I've provided my login and password, it connects me to the contents of the folder... (using same path information in both places). Hope this helps.
