Same problem here with Debian testing on a netbook machine, Gdm3 2.30.5-10. When I halt the system from Gnome, sometimes (not always observable) it takes some seconds to reload gdm3 login page (with login sound also), it stays there for some time (it varies from half a second up to 2 seconds), then it continues with the shoutdown on the black screen. This slows down very much the operation. I haven't found any workaround. Please, tell me if I can give you some more info or if I can test something for resolving this problem. Thank you. Regards.
