Thank you for being so observant. I've been aware of the new issue
and actually had been testing the packages before the C++ ABI change was
taking place which has caused #324874, #327017 & #327365. Many of those
even mention I'm aware of 2.0.8 being available but not wanting to mix
up both the C++ ABI transition and a new version at the same time.
