Hi all, I wanted to install some ad-hoc fonts and tried following the guide given at http://wiki.debian.org/Fonts In it, it says :- To add fonts on an ad hoc basis, you may install them in GNOME by opening a Nautilus window to fonts:// and dragging and dropping. I tried accessing nautilus both in user and su mode and trying to go to location via Go> location (or CTRL+L) and put fonts there. I got the error, Could not display fonts:// Nautilus cannot handle ''fonts'' locations. Even when I do a $gksudo nautilus and do fonts:// I got the following error :- Could not find "/home/shirish/fonts:".Please check the spelling and try again. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IN, LC_CTYPE=en_IN (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages nautilus depends on: ii desktop-file-utils 0.15-2 Utilities for .desktop files ii gvfs 1.6.4-3 userspace virtual filesystem - ser ii libatk1.0-0 2.0.1-2 ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.13-14 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.10.2-6.1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.94-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libexempi3 2.1.1-1 library to parse XMP metadata (Lib ii libexif12 0.6.20-1 library to parse EXIF files ii libgail18 2.24.5-4 GNOME Accessibility Implementation ii libgconf2-4 2.32.4-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglib2.0-0 2.28.6-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libglib2.0-data 2.28.6-1 Common files for GLib library ii libgnome-desktop-2-17 2.30.2-2 Utility library for loading .deskt ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.5-4 GTK+ graphical user interface libr ii libice6 2:1.0.7-2 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libnautilus-extension1 2.30.1-3 libraries for nautilus components ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.4-2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libselinux1 2.0.98-1.1 SELinux runtime shared libraries ii libsm6 2:1.2.0-2 X11 Session Management library ii libunique-1.0-0 1.1.6-2 Library for writing single instanc ii libx11-6 2:1.4.4-1 X11 client-side library ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-4 GNOME XML library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.6-2 X Rendering Extension client libra ii nautilus-data 2.30.1-3 data files for nautilus ii shared-mime-info 0.90-1 FreeDesktop.org shared MIME databa Versions of packages nautilus recommends: ii app-install-dat 2010.11.17 Application Installer Data Files ii brasero 2.30.3-3 CD/DVD burning application for GNO ii consolekit 0.4.5-1 framework for defining and trackin ii desktop-base 6.0.6 common files for the Debian Deskto ii eject 2.1.5+deb1+cvs20081104-8 ejects CDs and operates CD-Changer ii gvfs-backends 1.6.4-3 userspace virtual filesystem - bac ii librsvg2-common 2.34.0-2 SAX-based renderer library for SVG ii synaptic 0.75.2 Graphical package manager Versions of packages nautilus suggests: ii eog 3.0.2-2 Eye of GNOME graphics viewer progr ii epdfview [pdf-viewer] 0.1.8-1+b1 Lightweight pdf viewer based on po ii evince [pdf-viewer] 2.32.0-1 Document (PostScript, PDF) viewer ii gv [pdf-viewer] 1:3.7.2-2 PostScript and PDF viewer for X ii totem 2.30.2-8 A simple media player for the GNOM pn tracker <none> (no description available) ii vlc [mp3-decoder] 1.1.11-2+b1 multimedia player and streamer ii vlc-nox [mp3-decoder] 1.1.11-2+b1 multimedia player and streamer (wi ii xdg-user-dirs 0.14-1 tool to manage well known user dir ii xpdf [pdf-viewer] 3.02-21 Portable Document Format (PDF) rea -- no debconf information -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
