As I understand, this will require adding new cmdline option and updating documentation. Please tell me if you're interested in getting this patch applied for Debian package.
Yeah. The patch you supply replaces the current behaviour (blue padlock) with a locked screen-blank. While I'd be more than happy with a patch that added an option to screen-blank, I'm not going to accept a change to the default behaviour.
