[Zlatko Calusic] > On Sunday, Sept. 11, I upgraded to version 2.86.ds1-2 of sysvinit.
Do you remember which version you upgraded from? It would help me pinpoint when this broke. > Since then, bootlogd has not run. On bootup, a red, > "failed" message scrolls by quickly at the start of the > bootup. Bootup then proceeds and ends with another red, "failed" > message indicating that stop-bootlogd failed. Could this be related to bug #326640? I thought bootlogd was disabled by default, but am probably mistaken. Earlier, errors were undetected in these but scripts. So some of these errors might have been there all the time. I do not see these errors, so I am unsure how to reproduce and solve them. Can you try to modify init.d/bootlogd to run bootlogd with strace, and add 'set -x' at the top of the script to get more output on where it fails? This would make it easier to guess what the problem might be. Also, have a look at the reported sysvinit bug reports, as there are several related to bootlogd. Perhaps your problem is one of these? <URL: http://bugs.debian.org/src:sysvinit > > Also during bootup I get an error message concerning selinux. What is the message? Do you use SELinux? I suspect this is unrelated to the bootlogd issue. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
