Package: udev
Version: 164-3
Severity: normal
There is a clash for the MAC address range 52:54:00:* in
75-persistent-net-generator.rules
# Realtek
ENV{MATCHADDR}=="52:54:00:*", GOTO="globally_administered_whitelist"
....
# ignore interfaces with locally administered or null MAC addresses
# and KVM and VMWare virtual interfaces
....
ENV{MATCHADDR}=="52:54:00:*|54:52:00:*", ENV{MATCHADDR}=""
LABEL="globally_administered_whitelist"
So the rule to ignore KVM virtual interfaces is always skipped.
The script in the upstream source also has this clash but handles the virtual
interfaces first.
