Package: dosfstools Version: 2.11-2.1 Severity: important
fsck.vfat gives the option to correct a problem, or not, by entering 1 or 2. Entering 1 doesn't cause it to correct the problem, however. I was forced to use fsck.vfat -y, which could cause problems if one only wanted to repair some problems and not others. Output shown below. # fsck /dev/hda6 fsck 1.38-WIP (09-May-2005) dosfsck 2.11, 12 Mar 2005, FAT32, LFN /mail.tar.gpg File size is 133823443 bytes, cluster chain length is > 133824512 bytes. Truncating file to 133823443 bytes. Free cluster summary wrong (1247169 vs. really 1247179) 1) Correct 2) Don't correct ? 1 Leaving file system unchanged. /dev/hda6: 874 files, 151747/1398926 clusters # fsck -y /dev/hda6 fsck 1.38-WIP (09-May-2005) dosfsck 2.11, 12 Mar 2005, FAT32, LFN /mail.tar.gpg File size is 133823443 bytes, cluster chain length is > 133824512 bytes.
