Bug#561295: too easy to delete crontab via `crontab -r`

My workaround (after the first dataloss :) was placing a
    @daily crontab -l >| ~/.crontab.jan
line in my crontab.

P.S.: is it intentional that the /usr/share/bug/cron/script only
reports that I have EDITOR set, but not to which value? (see below)
