I've cloned the bug; your bug number is #639505. :) That sounds vaguely similar to <http://bugs.debian.org/611946> which was fixed in v3.1-rc1, but that one did not appear until 2.6.35 (with a patch that is not part of squeeze). So there is more to figure out here. If you get a chance to test hibernation without unloading the module on the latest kernel from sid or squeeze, that would be welcome.
