That sounds similar to one of the side-effects of #632403. Do you know
whether roxterm is using high CPU while unresponsive? Does it start
working again if you drag a window border?

Please could you also do at least one of the following:

Try with a window manager which isn't affected by bug #632403 eg
metacity, compiz, mutter.

Try roxterm 2.1.1 with the --no-geometry option. The new version may
take up to a week or two to be released into Debian because it needs to
be sponsored.
