* Ran merkaartor from command line, got error message about missing library.
$ ldd /usr/bin/merkaartor | grep found
libdapserver.so.7 => not found
libdapclient.so.3 => not found
* Installed packages libdapserver and libdapclient, and now merkaartor starts
up fine.
