Here's an alternative patch that I was throwing into my 8.2/8.3 packages for the upcoming apt.postgresql.org archive (atm at pgapt.debian.net): $ cat debian/source/options extend-diff-ignore = "src/interfaces/libpq/libpq.rc|gettext-files|po/.*.pot" (The first component is about some bumped "build number" counter or similar which probably stems from the fact the packaging is hosted in git.)
