Ubuntu user here. I'm forwarding LP #845570, which affects experimental due to the upgrade to gnome-settings-daemon 3.x. I've already reported the bug upstream. In short, the new org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.MediaKeys interface requires that org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.MediaKeys.GrabMediaPlayerKeys be called, otherwise media keys are not actually bound to quodlibet and not work. The LP bug report includes a one-line patch.
