If savetextmode=yes is set in /etc/default/svgalib-bin and the package
is removed (but not purged), the init script fails:
# /etc/init.d/svgalib-bin restart
Saving SVGA text mode state.../etc/init.d/svgalib-bin: 35:
/etc/init.d/svgalib-bin: savetextmode: not found
failed.
As per Policy 9.3.2, init scripts "should not fail obscurely when the
configuration files remain but the package has been removed, as
configuration files remain on the system after the package has been
removed."
