-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Package: python Version: 2.7.2-7 Severity: important
Hello, It seems like dh_python2 doesn't behave as expected for packages which contains only private modules and where X-Python-Version is set to a fixed python version (e.g. '2.6' or '2.7'). In particular, dh_python2 adds the following depends to the zope2.12 package: "python (>= 2.6.6-7~), python (<< 2.6)". This renders the package uninstallable. This is reproducible with didjvu sources from Unstable: fetch didjvu 0.2.1-1 sources, change 'X-Python-Version: >= 2.7' to 'X-Python-Version: 2.6' in debian/control, and build the package. The resulting binary depends on "python (>= 2.7), python (<< 2.7)", which again renders the package uninstallable. I set the severity to important as it is a bug which keeps us from uploading zope2.12 to the archive.
