The Synaptics right button disabled is present almost every time I start X.
One new datum: if I rmmod psmouse; modprobe psmouse then on the controlling terminal (but not in /var/log/Xorg.log) I get [typed by hand since copy-and-paste no longer possible]: ----------------------------------------------------------------- SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: read error No such device (EE) Query no Synaptics: 6003C8 (EE) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad Unable to query/initialize Synaptics hardware (EE) PreInit returned 11 for "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" --------------------------------------------------------------- Nevertheless, most of the touchpad functions (including scrolling & tapping) continue to work after these messages.
