*** Please type your report below this line *** I'm unable to open my Preferences window or Downloads window with Firefox 6 (not Iceweasel) unless I edit the file at /etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/default-modules.conf per this bug report: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=626076 When I edit the file (above) and comment out the line file: file to read #file: file everything works in Firefox (this is listed as a Temporary Solution in that report, http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=626076#5 However, when I do that, I am unable to open Inkscape files per this bug report: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=567045 When I try to open files in Inkscape, my CLI output reads: $ inkscape (inkscape:4962): libgnomevfs-CRITICAL **: gnome_vfs_uri_is_local: assertion `uri != NULL' failed ** (inkscape:4962): WARNING **: Invalid URI ** (inkscape:4962): WARNING **: Error: Could not open file '/home/jthomas/images/sju-10yr/ryank_cutout.svg' with VFS Removing that comment-mark to re-enable the "file: file" line allows Inkscape to work again, but not Firefox. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-686-pae (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libgnomevfs2-common depends on: ii gconf2 2.32.4-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii gnome-mime-data 2.18.0-1 base MIME and Application database ii shared-mime-info 0.90-1 FreeDesktop.org shared MIME databa libgnomevfs2-common recommends no packages. libgnomevfs2-common suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
