Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.32-38 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Hi,
Using Squeeze on my netbook Dell Mini 9 (aka Inspiron 910) with WiFi Broadcom BCM4312 802.11b/g chip and after having installed firmware-b43-lpphy-installer everything was ok. Then i couldn't connect via wi-fi to the net anymore. I think that an upgrade must be the cause. Then i tried that workaround (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=589867#26) : # rmmod b43 # echo "options b43 pio=1 qos=0" > /etc/modprobe.d/b43.conf # modprobe b43 and it works again Howvere i wouldn't consider that bug to be fixed since user shouldn't have to apply the workaround by himself ! Besides it seems that Linux 3.0 has a fix for that http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#Known_issues Thanks -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 2.6.32-5-686 (Debian 2.6.32-38) (b...@decadent.org.uk) (gcc version 4.3.5 (Debian 4.3.5-4) ) #1 SMP Mon Oct 3 04:15:24 UTC 2011 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-5-686 root=UUID=be9b83ba-14ea-4b76-bc7c-d7112eaaa87a ro quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [ 226.712280] r8169 0000:04:00.0: wake-up capability disabled by ACPI [ 226.712299] r8169 0000:04:00.0: PME# disabled [ 226.852213] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Starting disk [ 226.856615] ata1.00: ACPI cmd ef/03:0c:00:00:00:a0 (SET FEATURES) filtered out [ 226.856624] ata1.00: ACPI cmd ef/03:41:00:00:00:a0 (SET FEATURES) filtered out [ 226.864611] ata1.00: configured for UDMA/100 [ 226.976174] usb 1-2: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 [ 227.157776] PM: Finishing wakeup.
