Package: stopmotion
Version: 0.6.2-1.1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

$ sudo apt-get install live-build
$ cp /usr/share/live/build/includes/squeeze/install/pics/debian.jpg
/tmp/test-é.jpg
$ stopmotion

Click the "Add picture" button.
Select /tmp/test-é.jpg.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

"You don't have permission to read that file".

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Adding this picture to stopmotion UI.

Please note that this *does* work:

$ sudo apt-get install live-build
$ cp /usr/share/live/build/includes/squeeze/install/pics/debian.jpg
/tmp/test.jpg
$ stopmotion

Click the "Add picture" button.
Select /tmp/test.jpg.

This might be related to #646871, but contrary to what Jean-Michel
reports, in my case nothing is sent to STDOUT, hence this new
bug report.

Cheers,
