Package: debootstrap Version: 0.2.45-0.2 Severity: normal The debootstrap scripts are hard-coded to soft link /usr/sbin/sendmail to exim (woody) or exim4 (sarge, sid). This breaks custom installs that exclude exim.
For instance: I'm responsible for an embedded-ish sarge based system that uses ssmtp. Debootstrap replaces the sendmail link to ssmtp, which leaves a broken installation. Suggested fix: Move /usr/sbin/sendmail to eg /usr/sbin/sendmail.orig before temporary link to /bin/true, then move it back instead of re-linking to exim(4). -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27 Locale: LANG=en_GB.ISO-8859-15, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.ISO-8859-15 (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages debootstrap depends on: ii binutils 2.15-6 The GNU assembler, linker and bina ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii wget 1.9.1-12 retrieves files from the web -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
