Hello,
 The transmission-gtk client will delete a torrent file that is opened but the 
open 
operation is later canceled. This is a rather annoying bug. I realize it is not 
critical
but an application should not delete data unless instructed to do so by the 
user. 

I filed a bug upstream as well:
