Dear Maintainer, meanwhile I remembered to look into the error console of iceweasel and fond the following information:
www.bsi.bund.de : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555 This seems to indicate that the fault lies on the server and iceweasel is working correctly on the safe side.
