Would you consider setting the package priority to:
"Priority: optional"
This way packages which already have "Priority: optional" can depend on
famfamfam-flag-png or famfamfam-flag-gif without violating Debian
policy 2.5.
This would help rtpg-www and python-django-countries.
Since the -gif version is used only as an alternative dependency by
python-django-countries, it'd probably make sense to make -png
"optional", but keep -gif as "extra". Who uses GIFs these days anyway?
