in the meanwhile, i prefere not adding the patch just yet, since it's
relatively big and it will break with upstreams next open-vm code drop,
which means the patch is constantly needed to be updated and updated
again for each monthly new upstream release upload. i'm not currently
not interested nor capable myself to do that (no clue about {,k}freebsd
myself). or would you volunteer to do that on a permanent basis?
