Package: gpsd
Version: 2.28-2
Severity: wishlist
The man page says:
-f Set a GPS device name. This option is deprecated and may be re-
moved in a future version. Each command-line argument will be
treated as a device to be probed for the presence of a GPS;
that, rather than the -f option, is the preferred way of speci-
fying GPS devices at startup.
Please add "if no device name is given, /dev/ttyS0 will be used as a
default" here, even though /dev/ttyS0 is indeed mentioned in FILES.
Otherwise, one has a hard time figuring out if "device name" means
like "GARMIN_1" or /dev/ttySomething, etc.
