I realise that beets is in constant development and it just appeared in Debian but could you update it to the newest version, please? Version 1.0b11 drops LastID[0] plugin and introduces Chromaprint/Acousid[1] amongs other ones. The latter one uses the open source fingerprinting technology[2] which is also supported by MucisBrainz Picard[3].
