So, my first request is to please add conflicts with the amd-app package.

What is amd-app?  It's not in the debian archive from what I can tell.
  Did you get that package from amd or another distro?  I'm not sure
whether we
need to handle such a case since that's not actualy in the
archive.

If it is a simple conflicts/replaces, then we could add it. But first we have to know from where this package is.
