I'm getting towards the end of the process of getting packages to migrate from wxwidgets2.6 to wxwidgets2.8 so we can remove the former from the archive - it's no longer supported upstream, and wxwidgets3.0 is supposed to be out early next year. Currently it looks like wxwidgets2.6 will be removed in the next week or two. Unfortunately your upload of python-wxmpl happened two days after I generated the list of packages needing attention for this transition: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2011/10/msg00460.html So please can you drop the alternative dependency on python-wxgtk2.6?
