Technically, it shouldn't. It can work with a built-in editor called
Culebra. Also, there're remains of a proto-emacs integration module
somewhere around the source tree.

So, yeah, it shouldn't depend on vim, but on gvim | gtk souce view,
whatever the package's name is.
