I guess it's me who is confused, as I said I'm not very familiar with Debian workflows. The second issue is also fixed in spek master [0]. I will take time this weekend to learn how to actually add patches to Debian packages and will submit corresponding changes. Unless this issue is urgent and stopping libav 0.8 from being moved from experimental to unstable, in which case feel free to do the NMU. Thanks again!
