In /etc/default/sshguard there is the following line:

ARGS="-a 4 -p 420 -s 1200"

-a 4
seems too low for me, as that means that when trying to login with ssh with an 
unknown user to the sshguarded host, You will be blocked at the first failed 
login. Seems to be a little bit harsh to me.

The sshguard default value for -a is 40, that means you get blocked only after 
four failed logins. So maybe it's just a typo, as the other values are sshguard 
defaults, too.
