Rhonda, This should be considered my fault, in that v2.2 had a bug in gl-setup, (wouldn't deal well with blank lines in ~/.ssh/authorized_keys), I fixed it a few commits later, but -- and this is the part that is my fault -- did not tag it so maintainers could get it.
I will do that (tag it v2.2.1) and push this weekend. I was also wrong in my previous comment. sshkeys-lint *was* indeed an optional debugging aid for a long time, but -- as the comment on that line in gl-setup says, in the "never-ending quest to help with [mild swear word] ssh issues...", I started running sshkeys-lint at the end of gl-setup, so it is no longer correct for me to say it's optional and debugging only.
