Note for impatient users. An appropriate scalpel 2.0 binary
'.rpm' file can be fetched from this fedora repository:
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=3&search=scalpel&srodzaj=3
...then use 'alien' to convert the 'rpm' to a 'deb', & install.
