found 580910 chromium-browser/16.0.912.75~r116452-1 thanks It looks like this bug is still around. Starting from scratch I get "Bitstream Charter" (the first font in the list) displayed for all of the fonts "under the hood" -> "fonts" area. That's definitely wrong since if I manually select "Bitstream Charter" for any font, the preview changes. Anyway, it may be using monospace, etc in the right places, it just isn't saying that it is.
