Triggering asus-wireless.sh shouldn't be a problem because it is a noop on
non-asus systems. Not triggering ibm-wireless.sh of course is one.

What happens if add a file /etc/acpi/events/ibm-test with this content:
event=button/wlan WLAN 00000080
action=/etc/acpi/ibm-wireless.sh

Does this fix your problem?
