Those two bugs (#559162 on MySQL 5.5 and #637108 on MySQL 5.1) are the same. The upstream (duplicates) bugs are http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=49356 and http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=29327. As upstream doesn't seem to move, we should probably include the simple fix in Debian: --- /usr/bin/mysqld_multi.orig 2011-08-04 16:14:12.000000000 +0200 +++ /usr/bin/mysqld_multi 2011-08-04 16:15:21.000000000 +0200 @@ -467,7 +467,9 @@ '/usr/etc/my.cnf', ($ENV{MYSQL_HOME} ?
