This problem lxpanel seems to be an incompatibility with LibreOffice. I was using it heavily for a couple of days, and had lxpanel dying all the time. When I stopped using LibreOffice, the problems went away. Today, I had to use LibreOffice again, and lxpanel got wiped out again.
