Hi, I did not think about how Debian generates the file cooking.sty -- if it is generated out of cooking.dtx, then there is no need to patch cooking.sty ...
So I took a look at the original cooking.dtx on CTAN, and there is already a line with \recipeendhook included, but it is commented out. So by removing the comment, an IMHO correct version of cooking.sty is generated. Here the diff: $ diff cooking.dtx cooking.dtx.orig 525c525 < \recipeendhook% --- > % \recipeendhook Hope you can include that.
