python-gi is completely unusable, at least on my system. Just importing gi produces the following stack trace. >>> import gi Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/__init__.py", line 23, in <module> from ._gi import _API, Repository ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/_gi.so: undefined symbol: g_value_set_schar >>> Cheers, Bastian --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-1-686-pae Debian Release: wheezy/sid 500 unstable ftp.de.debian.org 500 unstable debian-multimedia.org 500 stable dl.google.com 101 experimental ftp.de.debian.org --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed =======================================-+-============== python2.7 | 2.7.2-13 OR python2.6 | 2.6.7-4 python (>= 2.6.6-7~) | 2.7.2-10 python (<< 2.8) | 2.7.2-10 libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6~) | 2.13-26 libffi5 (>= 3.0.4) | 3.0.10-3 libgirepository-1.0-1 (>= 1.29.0) | 1.31.10-1 libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.28.0) | 2.30.2-6 gir1.2-glib-2.0 (>= 1.31.0) | 1.31.10-1 Package's Recommends field is empty.
