Currently I'm upgrading initscripts and since /etc/default/rcS has
changed, I get a menu (in German) giving me various options:
Version des Paket-Betreuers installieren --> install version of package
maintainer
aktuell installierte Version behalten --> keep currently installed version
Unterschiede zwischen den Versionen anzeigen --> show difference between
versions
Unterschiede zwischen den Versionen nebeneinander anzeigen --> show difference
between versions side by side
Angelegenheit in einer neu gestarteten Shell untersuchen --> analyse situation
in a newly started shell
The third item works as expected, showing a standard (-u) style diff
output and a heading:
Unterschiede zwischen den Versionen zeilenweise anzeigen

The fourth item has the same heading:
Unterschiede zwischen den Versionen zeilenweise anzeigen

The output is (as the menu says) side by side, although since the two
versions are not indented, hard to read, e.g.
