Package: libgpod4 Version: 0.8.2-4 Severity: important
Dear Maintainer, Using libgpod together with gtkpod and an iPod Touch 2 generation. Device sold with iOS2, still using iOS2 (iOS4 widely reported to slow down the device, apple doesn't care about this "old" thing). libgpod hardcodes the iOS version to use for each device and hardcodes iOS4 for my device. This results in writing a database to the device that is not compatible. Expected behavior would be: Warn about incompatibility or detect version, or allow customization of iOS version to use. The reason I'm not using the latest version: I'm using 0.8.2-4 but patched by me to hardcode IOS2 for my device instead. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libgpod4 depends on: ii libc6 2.13-26 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.24.0-2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.30.2-6 ii libimobiledevice2 1.1.1-3 ii libplist1 1.8-1 ii libsqlite3-0 3.7.9-2 ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-7 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 Versions of packages libgpod4 recommends: ii libgpod-common 0.8.2-4 libgpod4 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
