Package: e2fsprogs
Version: 1.41.12-4stable1
Severity: normal

A file systems got corrupted on shrinking from 9400320 1k blocks to 3500000
blocks. When attempting to mount it, got this as result:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/mapper/vm--debian-
test,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so

In the logs I found this:

Feb 18 15:56:23 vm-debian kernel: [ 2041.623111] EXT4-fs (dm-3):
ext4_check_descriptors: Block bitmap for group 427 not in group (block
3501893)!
Feb 18 15:56:23 vm-debian kernel: [ 2041.623888] EXT4-fs (dm-3): group
descriptors corrupted!

The history of the file system is that it got resized before - to be bigger. I
don't have the old size anymore and am not sure if it got reiszed only once or
several times. Attached is the start of the output of dumpe2fs.

If named a place to upload it to, I can upload an image of the file system for
further investigation.
